Ancient and famous ‘Neronian’ thermal baths
Archaeological park

120 years of Hospitality and more than 2000 years of Spa tradition

One-of-a-kind, the Hotel Terme Neroniane is located above an archaeological park.

The archaeological excavations relevant to the Augustus times inside the hotel estate are clear evidence of the presence of the ancient Romans who took advantage of the benefits of thermal springs which they named Salus per Aquam.

The ancient large spa complex dating back to the 1st century A.D. has been displayed recently, thanks to the round windows integrated in the restaurant floor. Periodically, guided visits are organized to admire these important witnesses of the past, from the ancient Roman spa to an Imperial villa that has emerged recently after years of excavations.

The villa, stretched for more than one hectare and a half, was made up by two residential areas and two - perhaps three - open-air spaces.

THERMAL COMPLEX

Roman baths underneath the Terme Neroniane Hotel, end of the 1st century B.C.- 2nd century A.D.

In 1996 the ruins of a bath complex - in use between the end of the 1st century B.C. and approximately the 2nd century A.D. - emerged during works at the Terme Neroniane Hotel. The Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici del Veneto led here systematic excavations until the year 2003 and again in 2010. The archeological site is well equipped for public enjoyment, thanks to its suggestive graphic, lighting and technical support.
