The land

Let you conquer by land rich in history, culture and charming panoramas

The Hotel Terme Neroniane is located in Montegrotto Terme, immersed in the greenery with a view over the surrounding Euganean Hills.

It’s very easy to get to the Montegrotto Terme pedestrian zone as well as to walk to the pathways surrounding Villa Draghi; another opportunity is to discover the land by riding one of our bikes.

The Euganean Hills are the favourite destination of our guests: the hills are included in the Regional Park and consequently their nature, architecture and history are protected. The hills don’t cover a large amount of land but they include a number of surprises and treasures to discover such as the medieval hamlet of Arquà Petrarca, awarded as one of the most beautiful hamlets in Italy and the final residence of Francesco Petrarca; Venetian Villas such as the imposing Villa dei Vescovi owned by FAI or the Italian-style gardens in Valsanzibio, Castles such as the Catajo and Lispida, abbeys and monasteries (i.e. the Abbey in Praglia and the Monastery in St. Daniele), the walled towns such as Este, Monselice, Montagnana with their stories, fortifications and local products.

Wine and food and bicycle touring

At any destination you decide to visit, you will find a number of wine producers, inns and oil mills where you can taste the popular DOC and DOCG wines, the extra virgin olive oil and the typical recipes of the Paduan and Venetian cuisine.

If you love riding a bike or trekking, there are numerous trails either on the plain or across the Hills in the middle of nature to enjoy some wonderful views.

Art cities

The Terme Euganee railway station is 500 m from the hotel, the line connecting Venice to Bologna stops there; that means that it is very easy to get to Padua (it takes only 10 minutes) or the centre of Venice where you can arrive in 40 minutes and enjoy the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world.

Padua

“It is a city that has a lawn without grass, a Saint without a name and a café without doors”… and it is glamorous. Prato della Valle (“Lawn of the Valley”) is worth visiting and it is the largest square in Europe. On Saturday, a large market takes place there. The St. Anthony Basilica (known in Padua as “Il Santo” or “the Saint”) is nearby and attracts people from all over the world. The Pedrocchi Café (once a location that never closed), in the heart of the pedestrian zone deserves a visit for an espresso or its famous Spritz. The beautiful Botanic Garden, the oldest in the world, has been enlarged recently. The city squares, filled with students of one of the oldest universities in Italy, are really lively. The Palazzo della Ragione also deserves a visit as well as one of the pearls of the city, the Scrovegni Chapel, entirely painted by Giotto.

Venice

Romantic, charming, unique, it will leave you breathless: you can follow the crowd of tourists who walk across calli (lanes) and bridges to get to the famous Piazza San Marco or you can get lost among the narrow lanes with quaint views over the channels, the small squares full of life, or discover the “bacari”, the typical Venetian pubs. If you have a romantic soul, enjoy an experience in a gondola to admire Venice from another perspective.

A few kilometres away, there are also Vicenza, Palladio’s city, or the elegant Verona, the city of the unlucky lovers Romeo and Juliette and seat of the prestigious opera season at the Arena Theatre. Treviso and its cheerful land with the Montello region and Prosecco are worth a visit as well.
